and this weekend in DC Region and Atlanta
?
The Annual Beer and Bourbon and BBQ Festival
I went last year and had a blast!
i
Tickets are available at the door for $40. The general admissions portion of the festival begins at 2pm and ends at 6 pm. All you can "sample" beer and bourbon excellent BBQ and good music. This year the BBBBQ is expecting 60 different brews and 40 different types of bourbon. Think kid in a candy shop.
The festival takes place at Timoniun Fairgrounds. There is a free shuttle from Baltimore's Light Rail. I do not recommend buzz driving or drinking and driving. The constant 1/2 shots of bourbon are easily under estimated but beware they will sneak up on you.
Unfortunately advanced tickets are sold out, get there early to secure general admission.
The US AIR Guitar Regional Championship
8 o'clock Saturday night at the 9:30Club US AIR Guitar comes to DC for the regional finals. Winners will be selected to compete in the US Finals that will be held in Washington D.C. later this year. For $20 bucks you can enter to compete or watch the contest.
If you aren't in Washington you may still have a chance to show off your skills. Upcoming shows this year
Also in Atlanta (Fox)
"Native Lands: Indians and Georgia An exhibition that explores Indians' recent history and their continuing connections to Georgia through the voices of contemporary Creeks and Cherokees. Includes videotapes of contemporary Indians, a 1700s busk replica and an 1800s Cherokee family hearth scene. Mondays-Saturdays. Continues through June 1. Free-$15, www.atlantahistorycenter.com. Atlanta History Center, 130 W. Paces Ferry Road, Atlanta (Buckhead/Brookhaven), 404-814-4000, www.atlantahistorycenter.org, Mondays-Saturdays, 10 a.m.-5:30 p.m.; Sundays, noon-5:30 p.m."
Cheers
Hi guys,
I thought about doing a video blog last night just to discuss the video below Collateral Murder but I felt that inappropriate. To lighten the mood i'd like to share some awesome things going on in the metro region this weekend.

On a Budget
My recommendation this weekend for the broke and sexy- The U.S. Botanical Garden, located on the national mall, across from the U.S. Capital. I wreckin flowers is a blooming and birds is chirping. Open daily from 10 am to 5 pm; Admission: Free.
In Atlanta? Check out the Leak Music Festival Friday Night
Atlanta's underground music scene is chock-full of diversity in respect to R&B, pop, electro, hip-hop and more. The LEAK MUSIC FESTIVAL is a gathering of these genres and the artists who are emerging from the scene. Sponsored by Georgia State University's Black Student Alliance and Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association, the festival had more than 20 performers last year, including Jimi Cravity and Perfect Dissonance, who have since moved on to local and national fame. This year, the crowd can look forward to performances from featured Konvict Music artists Rock City and American Yard. Free. 5 p.m. Hurt Park, 100 Edgewood Ave. www.wix.com/theleak/musicfestival."

Military "Collateral Murder"--someone's Nose is growing
?
WikiLeaks has released a classified US military video depicting the indiscriminate slaying of over a dozen people in the Iraqi suburb of New Baghdad -- including two Reuters news staff. Reuters has been trying to obtain the video through the Freedom of Information Act, without success since the time of the attack. The video, shot from an Apache helicopter gun-site, clearly shows the unprovoked slaying of a wounded Reuters employee and his rescuers. Two young children involved in the rescue were also seriously wounded. For further information please visit the special project website www.collateralmurder.com.
i wonder how often this happens
