Ding Dong DOMA is Dead!

The irony of our government...they backed slavery, they ended Slavery. They stopped abortion, then allowed abortion, stopped blacks from voting, then allowed blacks to vote, stopped women from voting, then allowed women to vote...they defined marriage..and now marriage has been redefined!

Marriage no longer requires "defense" from my gay love!

In a close, hair line vote, the Supreme Court struck down DOMA!! (the defense of marriage act). The federal courts see that DOMA is an unauthorized reach of Government Control.
From now on, those who are married in states that legally recognize gay marriage will receive federal benefits including social security and tax cuts.

In his opinion Justice Anthony Kennedy wrote:

"The federal statute is invalid, for no legitimate purpose overcomes the purpose and effect to disparage and to injure those whom the State, by its marriage laws, sought to protect in personhood and dignity... By seeking to displace this protection and treating those persons as living in marriages less respected than others, the federal statute is in violation of the Fifth Amendment."

Justice Kennedy, was joined by Justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Stephen Breyer, Sonia Sotomayor and Elena Kagan.
Chief Justice John Roberts and Justices Antonin Scalia, Clarence Thomas and Samuel Alito all filed dissenting opinion (are you surprised? Bush, Reagan, Bush, Bush- naaaah)

As a socially labeled "Gay," i gotta say, for 30 years, i have been told that i am not worthy of true love. Nor am i capable of determing what true love is without the presence of a strong man (like Clarence Thomas?). For 30 years, I've been 100% comfortable with who I am. IF you still have issues with gay, or interracial marriage I urge you to strongly seek the source of your low self-esteem cause I ain't it!

Love over all!

Double Hump Day Fun- Daft Punk and Gay Off

First off a mash up of my favorite Canadian, Celine Dion dancing to summer's most played Album Daft Punk.  If you know me, you know how much i greatly appreciate all things disco..

i don't care how old she is she looks damn good for 60.

A little gayness on the eve of the Supreme Court's decision on my gay rights.

Enough Said

Good Cop Bad Cop goes to a New Level

If you have been to the South and have had an encounter with police you know that 9 times out of 10 police stops will end badly.  If are were lucky, you got pulled over by a down to earth officer who let you off with some advice, a warning and a blessing. But more than likely, you encountered the meat head officer, who, after getting off the high of being a big shot in high school, entered the police force with the same "I'm the shit" mentality.

Meet Officer David Stewart (Good Cop)
and Officer Brian Harrison (Bad Cop)

Please listen carefully to this encounter that took place last year in Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

S. You were swerving back there like you were trying to hit somebody.
H. I didn't try to hit no body If I wanted to $%*# hit somebody I would have $%*# hit somebody.
S. Brother, you have that big of a damn issue?
H. With what?
S. With everything,The world?!
H. No, not at all
S. You were going 80 on a 45.
H. That don't make no difference. I don't $%*# care that shouldn't bother you
S. My kids are out on this road
H. I don't care.
S. That's exactly right, that is the problem with the world, that is the problem with police officers like you. You outta not be a police officer...

My hat goes off to Officer Stewart. You are 100% correct. Apathy is what is wrong with this world.

The traffic stop, which occurred April 30, 2012, led to a verbal counseling for both officers. It is important to note that later that day Harrison took it upon himself to email Stewart

"..I understand you are new and want to pull everyone over but please … sometimes give it a rest...The best thing you could have done was get on I-12 and go to work"

In a statement after his counseling Harrison said:

"[My] stemmed from the fact that the traffic stop was conducted by a law enforcement officer who was not only outside his jurisdiction, but also outside the parish in which he was commissioned in....I could have conducted myself in a more professional manner. The actions I displayed in that video are not how I carry myself in my day to day life or when I’m on duty with the police department. My choice of language used was a misjudgment on my part and I would like to assure the public that I carry myself with the utmost of professionalism when representing the Baton Rouge Police Department.”

Harrison got a slap on the wrist for this..which is bullshit. He should be fired for his dangerous behavior and for his disregard for the safety of other drivers.

Sidenote: In 2006 Harrison was involved in the controversial shooting of George Temple II. Harrison pulled Temple over for cutting off a funeral procession, they fought in a parking lot and Temple was shot five times. Once by Harrison, four times (including one to the head) by a bystander.......i guess at someone point Harrison 'want[ed] to pull everyone over' too.

Ha, yea I said it! And what i can say it because i'm black right?  But Paula Deen can't cause she is an old white woman from the south.  Right?

Its not that simple. What is simple enough is that the word Nigger is the most offensive word in American history. Unlike other racial slurs Nigger, was solely devised to negatively describe Black Americans.  It is not a spin off of a word, or once a harmless characteristc. It is not okay for anyone to use the word, regardless of race, cultural background, education or lack there of, etc.
But lets take it a step further..

White Friends, just so you know it is offensive to commonly compare someone's skin colour as 'Black as that board".. or black anything..because when you do, you instantly note that you, as a white person, see first, and foremost, our "differences." We are not novelties. Paula, who up into a to recent past asked that her black employees to dress as slaves for parties. Who wanted a Plantation style wedding for her son( ie SLAVES) She also openly admits that her Grandfather wanted the South to win the Civil War so that he could hold on to his workers..Not workers Paula, SLAVES.
But realically, Paula Deen is outdated (no pun intended), in the days of Yoga and Gluten Free, Vegan living, what place do we really have for a butter loving chef? None.

What is about food that brings out the racist?

Total 11 shootings, 21 hit, 8 people killed in Violent Baltimore Weekend

6/21/13 12:00 am- 6/23/13 11:59pm

Chicago 25 shot, 4 people killed

Oakland seven shootings, 11 shot, 1 person killed

Summer is an usually violent time in Baltimore City. It is senseless, but until we give individuals more to live for what can we expect?

I won't preach. Only pray. "Stay Safe, B-More"
