Okay Its time to Stop Ignoring the Swine in the room

?

I've been using the word Swine for years--pork sounds stupid "BBQ Pork Sandwich" or "BBQ Swine Sandwich" DUH?
I've avoided this topic because---well just because. But here we go.

as of posting there are 150+ cases of swine flu are found around the world. Germany and Austria are the most recent countries to join the list along side Spain, Israel, Costa Rica, United Kingdom, Mexico, Canada and the United States.
91 of the 150 confirmed cases are state side. A CNN news update reports the flu has reached "10 states" across the country and so far the southern region (SEC!) and the Central and Mid/West.
New York 51 cases
Texas 16 cases
California 14 cases
Massachusetts, Michigan, Kansas each have two cases 2
Nevada, Indiana, Ohio, Arizona confirmed one case
CNN also reports a toddler that was visiting Texas from Mexico has passed today due to the illness.
H1N1

It is rumored (by locals and Dr. Sanyan Gupta) that the virus came from a meat plant located in Mexico owned and operated by Smithfield Foods.

On the Government side Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack is disappointed with Mainstream media because HEY its not transmitted in Food
H1N1-Swine Flu is a flu originally found in pigs (hints the name) and it is rare that its mutated form is transmitted in humans.
IT IS AN AIRRRRBOORN Disease

Cdc released this report 2 hours ago

"
Basic Facts About Swine Flu Outbreak

29 April 2009

Leaders and health officials around the world are urging people to take several precautions to help slow the spread of the sometimes deadly swine flu virus. The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and World Health Organization (WHO) say swine flu is caused by a virus that normally causes outbreaks in pigs, but that this strain -- a combination of pig, human and bird viruses -- is passing from person-to-person. Symptoms are generally similar to seasonal flu -- including fever, lethargy, lack of appetite and coughing. Some people with swine flu can also experience a runny nose, sore throat, nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. In some cases swine flu has led to severe pneumonia resulting in death. Experts say everyone should cover their mouths and their noses when they sneeze, and wash their hands often. They also say anyone who feels ill should stay home from work and school and avoid other crowded areas. The CDC says anyone experiencing difficulty breathing, sudden dizziness or severe vomiting should seek immediate medical attention. The CDC and WHO say you cannot get swine flu from eating pork. Scientists are working to develop a vaccine to contain the spread of the highly contagious respiratory disease but there are several antiviral medications that can be used to treat swine flu. Most officials believe Mexico is the epicenter of the current outbreak. In 1976, a swine flu outbreak in the U.S. state of New Jersey made 200 people seriously ill and caused one death."

OBAMAS 100 Days /hump day laugh/"Brotha"

We have a President who tries to be hip and cool. He's neither just a typical black slacker with a big ego and no accomplishments. If he were competent then maybe we would call him Cool Breeze, but so far he's just a fart in the wind.

I AGREE WITH ANONYMOUS @ 3:05 PM AND CONSERVATIVEXPRESS. WE SHOULD LYNCH LAZY WELFARE NEGRO BARACK OBAMA, AS IS OUR DUTY AS TRUE WHITE AMERICANS!!! WHY CAN'T B. HUSSEIN NOBAMA, WITH HIS DEGREES FROM COLUMBIA AND HARVARD LAW, PRESIDENCY OF THE HARVARD LAW REVIEW, ELECTION TO THE ILLINOIS STATE SENATE, US SENATE, AND PRESIDENCY OF THE UNITED STATES, BE ACCOMPLISHED LIKE SARAH PALIN? SHE WENT TO LIKE SIX SCHOOLS AND COMMUNITY COLLEGES, WHICH MAKES HER BETTER EDUCATED, SHE'S POPPED OUT A BUNCH OF BABIES, AND SHE WAS MAYOR OF THE METH CAPITAL OF ALASKA! PLUS, SHE'S WHITE, SO SHE IS CLEARLY BETTER!

I'M SURE GLAD I FOUND THIS BLOG WHERE PEOPLE KNOW THE TRUTH ABOUT THE INFERIORITY OF OBAMA BECAUSE OF HIS RACE! IT TRULY IS THE DEMONCRAPS AND PC LIBERALS WHO ARE THE TRUE RACISTS, BECAUSE THEY ARE THE ONES WHO KEEP BRINGING IT UP. WE CONSERVATIVES WOULD BE HAPPY PRETENDING THE ISSUE DIDN'T EXIST, LIKE WE DID WITH KATRINA (WHICH THE HOMOS CAUSED, RIGHT?).

I keep asking, Why is Obama black? He's half white, that makes him a mulatto, right? Why does he never admit that fact! He was raised be a white grandmother, correct? He does have an arrogant swagger, I'm guessing that's the black part of his race showing. He is swaggering us right into Communism, do you think America will wake up before it's too late?

Whos fault is that? George W. Bush a White guy who spent more time on vacation then any other president in history...but Obamas a "typical Black Slacker"..so what are you? What is your job? have you been a senator, a leader, HARVARD LAW Grad-did you even go to school?

And Spineless number four? April 28 12:48--he is black, he is white. But when he was a kid in the 70s and 80s, and a cops pulled up behind him what colour do you think they saw?

Homeowner has private bedroom, private bath available to rent in nice two story home in far north Austin. I am looking for a FEMALE roommate only that will be a friends with benefits type of situation. Nonsmoker preferred. This would be a good situation for a student or young professional who is willing to trade basic housekeeping duties for low rental fee. I am also in need of someone who would be willing to help me organize my office and help with administrative duties such as bill paying. Depending on what you are willing to offer me it is possible that rent could be almost free. If the situation is really in line with my needs I may be willing to assist with expenses related to transportation and food, including the occasional use of a reliable automobile. It is getting expensive to make it these days, and we all need to be willing to make alternative life style arrangements in order to make ends meet.

is Dogdeball harmful? the end of a great american sport?

?
Across the United States in several middle and elementary schools the sport of Dodge ball is banned!
I am talking school districts in Virgina, Maryland, Flordia, Texas, Colorado, Massachusetts, and California (ok no surprise there) have banned Dodge ball in middle school and elementary school.
Critics of Dodgeball (and musical chairs, and tag) argue that dodge ball is demeaning to students who suck at the sport. Also tht Dodgeball does not offer any redemming while and promotes bullying, exclusing, injury and my favorite-Humiliation.
HELLO!? I thought that High School promoted those things.
"Hey kids-the world is going to be a really tough place but we're going to make you as soft and vulnerable to it as possible so you grow up weak and unable to coup with the realities of life."

I found one bi-partisan page in the sea of Pros and Cons pages.
Here are some memorable quotes

Con
"The bottom line is kids are being used as targets. And it's not giving children the right message that we want with the violence in society today"
Chet Bunting, Physical Education Teacher

"We take the position that [dodgeball] is not an appropriate instructional activity because it eliminates children and it does not respect the needs of less skilled children"
Judith Young, Executive Director for the NASPE

"Any time you throw an object at somebody, it creates an environment of retaliation and resentment. There is nothing positive that can happen except a bully gets to beat up on little kids"

Thomas Murphy, Physical Education Teacher

"A person trying to record the positive attributes of dodgeball would end up with a very short list…In today's world, with so many things breeding violent behavior in children, there is no room for dodgeball anymore"

Dennis Docheff

Department of Health and Human Performance at Concordia University

"Dodgeball is a mild reestablishment of the Roman custom of throwing cap

tives into the area to fight for survival against gladiators"

Dean Sullivan, Liberation Journal

"[Dodgeball is] an activity that masquerades as a playful game when it is much m

ore akin to a carnival arcade shooting extravaganza"
Scott Crawford, Eastern Illinois University

Pro
"Dodgeball is one of the few times in life when you get to let out your aggression, no questions asked. We don't need less we need more!"
Rick Reilly, Columnist at Sports Illustrated

"I go to dodgeball for two hours, I walk out and I'm calm, completely centered"
Murray Fenstermaker, Member of Tulane Dodgeball League

"[Dodgeball] develops the transferable sport skills of teamwork, quick movements and change of direction, and the importance of keeping your eye on the ball"
Rick Hanetho, NADA Director

"Stopping students from throwing foam balls at each other will not come close to ending the nation's violence in schools"

Steve Gotch, Founder of GAGAVA
an organization whose goal is to co

unteract the removal of "violent activities" from the Virginia school system

"We are all both hunter and prey in the game, and we can master our fears in small quantities"
Ronald Kamm, Leading Sports Psychiatrist

NFL DRAFT PICK 2009!

?
Major congrats, and confusion, to Matthew Stafford first round NUMBER ONE DRAFT PICK fresh from UNIVERSITY OF GEORGIA (daaah dah dah daaah dah dah dah BULL-DOGS!) also Congrats to the Five other Bulldogs ( college with the third most players drafted this year) Knowshon Moreno, Mohamed Massaquoi, Asher Allen, Corvey Irvin and Jaruis Wynn.

I'd also like to call attention to the SEC presents in the first round and throughout the draft pick!
S-E-C!

This years draft pick was not out of the ordinary less a few trades up. Everyone went where they were suppose to go, when they were suppose to go minus major notable Mark Sanchez of USCali who went to the NY Jets (who had B. Rrave for a year remember? No?...its ok, its not worth remembering) after the Jets traded their pick to the Cleveland Browns (who got Brady Quinn, quaterback out of N Dame, last year and who still have Anderson starting) for two second round picks and a handful of players.

sorry guys i thought i published a post about the Bar Louie 2009 Rock the Tots competition last night. Yours truly was a paramedic and i am happy to report that no one died!
Congrats to Jared for winning the BL employee TTEC and Congrats to Big Bess on winning the overall TTEC by eating 2.8 pounds of tater tots.

On another note. I am gearing up to work with the guys at That Fresh Radio Piece to host a show on renters rights and the lack there of. We recently discovered that our house is being foreclosed on because our landlord Licensed Long and Foster Agent Charles "Chuck" Bailey intentionally did so. What did he do with the money? That doesn't matter. The fact is someone sought to took their negative karma and passed it onto others and across the country honest people are being screwed over by greedy predators out for their self interest. There are few rights protecting renters and that must change. Renters need justice, and the dishonest unAmericans who are taking advantage of their neighbors need to be called out, abashed.

Find and reduce your Carbon Footprint

?

Carbon footprint

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

A carbon footprint is “the total set of GHG (greenhouse gas) emissions caused directly and indirectly by an individual, organization, event or product” (UK Carbon Trust 2008). An individual, nation or organization's carbon footprint is measured by undertaking a GHG emissions assessment. Once the size of a carbon footprint is known, a strategy can be devised to reduce it.

Carbon offsets, or the mitigation of carbon emissions through the development of alternative projects such as solar or wind energy or reforestation, represent one way of managing a carbon footprint.

The concept and name of the carbon footprint originates from the ecological footprint[1] The carbon footprint is a subset of the ecological footprint. discussion.

CarbonFootprint.com and Nature.org offer CarbonFootprint calculators, the Nature.org site is easier to navigate and is ran by The Nature Conservancy.

Carbon Footprint Calculator: What's My Carbon Footprint?

Inevitably, in going about our daily lives — commuting, sheltering our families, eating — each of us contributes to the greenhouse gas emissions that are causing climate change. Yet, there are many things each of us, as individuals, can do to reduce our carbon emissions. The choices we make in our homes, our travel, the food we eat, and what we buy and throw away all influence our carbon footprint and can help ensure a stable climate for future generations.

Use The Nature Conservancy's carbon footprint calculator to measure your impact on our climate. Our carbon footprint calculator estimates how many tons of carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gases your choices create each year. more info

To get started, select the number of people in your home. Then choose whether you want to calculate a carbon footprint for yourself or for your household.

props to the new MISS USA!!

?
I called it from the Start of the Show: Miss North Carolina USA crowned Miss USA 2009

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Miss North Carolina USA Kristen Dalton was crowned Miss USA 2009 on Sunday, beating out 50 other beauty queens in the live pageant televised from Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Las Vegas.

The 22-year-old aspiring motivational speaker and entertainer from Wilmington edged out first runner-up Miss California USA Carrie Prejean, of San Diego, and second runner-up Miss Arizona USA Alicia-Monique Blanco, of Phoenix.

"It feels really natural," Dalton said of her win. "I've worked so be here and this has been my lifelong dream and it's finally here. And whoever knew you could win in a turquoise gown?"

Contestants from all 50 states and the District of Columbia competed in the pageant, aired live on NBC. Contestants were judged by their performance in swimsuit and evening gown modeling contests and their responses to a question asked onstage; unlike the rival Miss America pageant, Miss USA contestants do not perform a talent.

The top 15 contestants worked the stage in white string bikinis designed by pop star Jessica Simpson's swimwear line. Rocker Kevin Rudolf performed his song "Let it Rock," followed by The Veronicas, who performed their single "Untouched" as the top 10 beauties showed off their choice of glittering evening gowns.

Dalton's was a flowing, blue Grecian number that stood out among a series of white gowns.

Her title comes with a year's use of a New York apartment, a public relations team, a two-year scholarship at the New York Film Academy and an undisclosed salary.
